Methods of Consumption

Consequences & Associated Risks

Methamphetamine gives a boost of energy, but once its effect dissipates it has the opposite effect on the body. Generally with extended use, people begin to feel anxiety and paranoia due to disruption in sleeping patterns. Violent mood swings are also prevailent.

Continued long term use can lead to severe depression and the development of mental disorders. Increased aggressiveness, damage to blood vessels leading to heart failure, decreased resistance against infections and diseases.

Death by methamphetamine is usually caused by it being mixed with alcohol, heroin or cocaine.

Effects

Increase in alertness, confidence and possibly aggression. Enlarged pupils, faster heart rate, lack of desire for sleep or nutrition, nervousness and anxiety. Some people become extremely talkative. It has been known to cause severe mood swings, irritability, temper tantrums and restlessness. These effects are magnified when alcohol is consumed.

Extended use can leads to an increase in blood pressure, insomnia, convulsions, cardiovascular deterioration, extreme anorexia hyperthermia, paranoia, irreversible brain and organ damage.

Benefits

Used by fighter pilots and other high risk jobs where falling asleep can lead to death, but this is always done under medically supervised conditions.

Once its effects dissipate, how do you feel?

Exhausted (physically and mentally), depressed and hungry due to lack of sufficient nutrition, generally speaking a similar effect as a very bad hangover from alcohol consumption.
